Why is Society not Accepting Adolescence ?

Today' s society does not give enough value to teenagers. They are seen as bad or negative by people in general. Why does the society do this?

Adolescence is a time when life can be full of problems. Any good thing the teenagers do puts the family or community into a negative mindset. A simple example can be seen when a man and a woman talk at a public place. The public who see this start to compare them with other bad examples as in they are in a relationship. Those two speaking in public may be friends or acquaintances or family members. It is because of this kind of thinking that one become a negative character in the society.

Adolescents want to enjoy life and live happily while coping with strain and stress. But they are not able to do that, because they also have to focus on education. They put their joy aside in doing good for the family. It turns out that this sacrifice is forever, it can not be erased until death.

In the case of some people, it is just a matter of a few sacrifices. But I never thought it would come over my head for the rest of my life. As in the famous Malayalam proverb, if the leaf comes and fall on the thorn and the thorn comes and falls on the leaf, the leaf is going to be damaged.

Comparison is another thing that bothers teenagers. A well educated child may sometimes have low marks and then compare himself to a neighbour's child. As a result, the child becomes more stressed and she or he is not able to focus in their studies.

Society portrays any good person as a negative character. Some of their words hurt the minds of harmless adolescents.

The above examples show that the society don't accept adolescents. The real problem is in the thinking of people. Let us begin to think well, accept and help adolescents...
