Stranded in Guna Cave: A Review of Manjummel Boys
Last Friday, I went to see the movie "Manjummel Boys" (2024) with my college friends. It was one of the greatest experiences I've had in a theater. I had heard a lot of reviews from my other friends who had seen the movie, so I was very excited to watch it.
Actually, the movie is based on a real-life incident. A group of friends embark on a daring rescue mission to save their friend from Guna Cave, a perilously deep pit from which nobody has ever returned.
The movie is a full emotional roller-coaster, showcasing the true bond of friendship. All the actors did a fine job, especially Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi. The technical side is top-notch!
It's a well-made survival drama experience on the big screen. The sound effects and visuals of Guna Cave are stunning. A highlight of "Manjummel Boys" is its authentic portrayal of Malayali culture, which enriches the narrative. The climax, depicting the rescue from the cave, is beautifully executed, enhancing the emotional impact of the scene.
While "Manjummel Boys" aims for a serious tone, staying true to real-life events, it falls short of being a standout movie. The media's overrepresentation of its worth may lead to inflated expectations. It is recommended to watch this film at home rather than spending money on theater tickets, as it may not offer the expected cinematic experience. Overall, "Manjummel Boys" is an excellent movie with its moments, and it is also suited for home viewing. I would rate it 7 out of 10, with no offense intended.
This is a must-watch movie in theaters; don't miss it.
