Cyber Crime

Cyber crime can be referred to any illigal activity that is executed with the help of a computer. Such kind of crimes have always been executed in all places since the computer technology was introduced. With the advent of internet, these crimes have gained an even faster pace. Accessing the data of an organisation while sitting in another part of the world through internet has now become extremely effortless. This has drastic effects on organisations.

There are a lot of cyber crimes happening in the present world. Pornography is sexual content shown in pornography websites and e-magazines, accessed via computer or mobile. Cyber stacking is the threatening behaviour or repeated actions of harassment of the cyber criminals by using internet service. Web Hijacking as the name suggests is controlling others' websites forcefully. Due to this the victims will lose control over his/her website and content. Phishing is an act of sending an email falsely to gather private information as an identity theft and ask to give personal information like password, credit card, social security etc. There are a lot more crimes like this in the cyber world.

Any criminal activity that uses a computer either as an instrument, target or a means for perpetual offence, and doing further crimes come within the ambit of cyber crime.

Education and Awareness are the initial steps taken to prevent cyber crimes from taking place.
