Student Life is the Golden life.

Student life is the golden life, because it is the most important part of human life. It is the period of pure joy and happiness. During that period, our mind is free from cares and worries for others. We live our life for ourselves. Every student should try his best to make the best use of his student life.      The primary duty of a student is to learn and to acquire knowledge. He has to do all his work and responsibilities at the right stage of his life. If a student becomes successful in his student career, he will be able to shine in any sphere of life and serve his society and country.      A student should take advantage of his time when he is a student and enjoy each and every moment of that life. He has to be careful about his health and spend some time in engaging sports activities or in games. He should try to develop a good mind and body for the best of his life.      As a student, everyone has to acquire some good qualitie...

The Art of Mindfulness

While working in the education sector, one thing that baffled me the most is how we never talk about the basic life skills with our kids. No one talks about love. No discussion happens on the art of cooking. In fact, some of the fundamental responsibilities in social life such as common courtesy, compassion and tolerance are all left unmentioned in our curriculum. It is unbefitting of modern education that we do not focus on the basic etiquettes of social life and produce generations of machinelike professionals who eventually fall prey to the pressures of work and add to the statistics on mental health issues. The million dollar question is, 'can't we do better?' There is no disagreement on the fact that there is so much beauty to life and relationships. There is much to be cherished around us in nature. Every moment unfolds in front of us with so many elements of love, wonder and magic. When life can be quite rewarding and full of wonder, why do many of us end up with str...

College Life and Education

College life with all its colours and glitters is a dream for everyone. College schedule is very different from the high school schedule. The other cool thing about the college schedule is that we usually have more opportunities to explore our interests and passions. It is easy being a freshman, just out of high school, to procrastinate until it's too late. A typical day on campus is like: attending classes, doing some homework, spending time in the library, hanging out with friends, and that is just the beginning. But real education is beyond the routines. College education teaches you to think critically, effectively communicate and solve problems proficiently. It also gives us experience in self discipline. And the benefits of college education are: increased availability of job opportunities, increased earning potential, networking opportunities etc. College experience prepares you, both intellectually and socially for career and adult life. Studies have shown that it also lead...

Ambitions in Life

Every person must have an aim in life. This aim is to give your life a purpose and a meaning. When you were little, your aim might have been to be a famous movie star, or a police officer, or to be a doctor. Life goals are all the things you want to accomplish in your life. Aim can be large and challenging goals or they can be smaller and more personal ones. It all depends on what you want to achieve.  A person chooses their ambition or goal by getting inspired by the people surrounding him/her, mostly this inspiration comes from parents or teachers or relatives. Choose the right goals. Choosing the wrong goal makes the person fail. It could be really difficult for everyone to choose a career path at a very young age, but taking the correct goal makes the career a success. The aim in life is really important if you want to pursue something in your life. If you don't know your aim, you may not taste success in your life  So every person must have a definite aim to live with a s...

The Happiness Potion!

An article, read recently, states that the second largest business in the world is selling happiness. One might even wonder if happiness could be sold and bought! Yuval Noah Harari, in his essay “Chemical Happiness and the Meaning of Life”, argues on the modes and means with which one could maintain a state of happiness. He says how happiness is subjective and that external means like wealth, position and material accomplishments do not pave way to happiness. Giving meaning to life is the remedy to retain happiness in life according to Harari. There are chemicals/hormones inside the body that triggers happiness. One such chemical is oxytocin. Once the brain conceives the instance of happiness, an electric signal is transmitted across the neurons that results in the production of oxytocin, says science. Since not all life situations create happiness, creating happy occasions is one of the ways to stimulate the sense. While, being with friends buys happiness to some, family time fetches ...
